The Lost LOST recaps.... Episode 3.02.

My favorite show on TV, LOST, returns this week with a episode entitled, "Not in Portland". It will be preceded by on of those recap shows that pretend to have "new information" about the show. After seeing 3 or 4 of this type of show, I wouldn't count on much.

Anyway, I thought I would finally put up my reviews of the season's part one episodes. I have a roundup of the first episode, "A Tale of Two Cities", here and should have gotten to this a long time ago but life (and my ADD) intervenes all too often.

So, without further ado, I present my next 5 episode recaps...

------------==========+==========----------

Episode 3.2 -- The Glass Ballerina (or, I've got the Sun in my eyes.. and my side... and my bloody chest....)

In the first episode in Season 3 that feature lostaways other than Jack, Sawyer, and Kate, we learn that Sun was a spoiled brat child whose father tried to teach a lesson by firing a housemaid for breaking a, get ready for it, Glass Ballerina statue when Sun really did it. Sun only really learned that she could be a manipulator and continues to do so to this day.

She continued to see the hotel owner's son who only wants to take her to the US and hide her away from her father and her husband, Jin. Of course they are sleeping together and this only add fuel to the belief that Sun has Jae Lee's bun in the oven.

Picking up the season 2 finale, Sun, Jin, and Sayid are still on the sail boat on the far side of the island. They find the other's launch dock and setup an ambush. Sun lies to Jin about Sayid's plan but Jin is smarter than the average Korean-only speaking lostaway and figures out what's going on. Jin joins Sayid in a tree on the beach after they set a trap to catch some others. They leave Sun on the boat for safety since nothing can go wrong with leaving someone along on a boat around this island.

Kate and Sawyer are forced into moving rocks for The Others. Why? Who cares. Kate in a dress getting all hot and sweaty makes up for any new questions. Alex shows up and asks Kate about Karl who was in her cage but got out and then disappears as quickly as she showed up. Kate gets a wild hair and helps Sawyer try to get away by kissing him to get the the guards close enough to have the snot beat out of them. Sawyer ends up getting tasered by Juliet and then lets Kate in on how he thinks they are going to get away.

In the flashback, we find that Sun's father finds out about her affair with Jae and sends Jin to "take care" of him. Jin doesn't know about the affair but delivers a message that causes Jae to commit suicide. Jin's still not a killer.. so far....

Meanwhile, Ben has been talking to Jack to a woman named Colleen who tells him about the lostaways on the sailboat. He tells her to get a team, take the SUB, and get the sailboat. When they show up, we only see them climbing on the dock completely avoiding the beach where Sayid and Jin are hiding. Sun's working on supper in the galley and hears The Others boarding. She arms herself with a gun Sayid gave her and when provoked by Colleen to hand it over, she become the deadly member of the family when she shoots Colleen in the stomach, locks herself in the back room and escapes the boat through the rear storage door. Back on the beach, Sun, Jin, and Sayid decide to head back to the beach to find the rest of the lostaways and figure out what to do next.

Finally, we come back to Jack who is formally introduced to Faux Henry's real name, Benjamin Linus. He explains that he was born on the island and that Jack will have to do something for him in the future. Jack is incredulous until Ben shows him what's been going on in the outside world with videos of the Red Sox winning the World Series, Bush getting re-elected, and the death of Christoper Reeve. He then promises that someday, he will take Jack home.
