Well, to coop a phrase from the beloved Ronald Regan, "There they go again!"
Did you know that Everyone in Congress from the Vice-President (who is the President of the Senate) down to the lowliest Representative gets an annual raise... Automatically.... Unless they vote not to? I actually did but what is interesting is that this year, one of them tried to get a vote to stop the Cost Of Living Allowance (COLA) increase from taking effect. Guess what? The House rejected the procedural attempt to get a public vote.
Hmmm... What could these PUBLIC SERVANTS have to hide? Is it that they don't want their constituents to know how they would have voted to not raise their $163,000 plus salaries? {Sigh}... If only I could have a job that pays in the 6.5 figure range that gets an automatic raise unless I refuse it.... I guess one can dream! And I guess the GOP, who used to vote the COLA raises down in the late '80s and 90's, don't feel fiscally responsibility is important anymore....
