Continuing my late recaps of Season 3 LOST episodes, I present Episode 3.06... I Do (or, I would like to but I gotta run...)

Kate's in spotlight this time around. We start with a flashback to Kate's hotel room and a knock at the door. She's confronted by a police officer who quickly turns the meeting into a romantic liaison. Afterward, Kevin (or Mal in Jill's case) asks her about their wedding tomorrow and calls her Monica. Flash forward to the next day and we see Kevin's mom giving Kate a locket from the family's wives.
Back on the Hydra Island, Jack looks over the x-rays of Ben's tumor and says that he needs surgery yesterday. Ben says that the will let Jack do it and Jack retorts that Ben misunderstood. He just wants Ben to know how he's going to die.
Danny, Colleen's husband, wants Kate to work today without Sawyer. She refuses saying that She breaks the rocks and Sawyer hauls them (which is actually backwards). Danny agrees and takes them to the quarry where a "compound breach" is announced. The guards talk frantically on the talkies as Alex runs in and starts hitting people with rocks from her slingshot. Danny and Alex stand off with Alex screaming frantically about where they took Karl and demanding to talk to Ben. She gets grabbed by another guard and is dragged away yelling to Kate not to believe anything they say since they are going to kill her boyfriend like they did hers.
Juliet shows up and asks Kate to put a sack over her head. Kate refuses after hearing talkie communications about "their plans being moved up 2 weeks" because "they called, it's just the way it is, Danny". Kate agrees when Juliet tells her that its the only way to keep Sawyer alive. Kate is taken to see Jack where she tells him to do the surgery. Jack is suspicious and asks how she knows and Kate tells him that they will kill Sawyer if he doesn't remove the tumor.
In the past, Kate is enjoying married life but sneaks to a pay phone to call US Marshal, Edward Mars. She pleads with him to stop chasing her but he guesses that she's married and tells her that he will stop if she can stop running but, "we both know that isn't going to happen." Kate check a timer she setup before the call and hangs up in time to avoid a trace. She then realizes that she cannot live the dream life she has when Kevin shows up with honeymoon tickets and she fears that she might be pregnant. She panics and confesses the truth to Kevin after drugging him so he cannot stop her leaving. After he passes out, she leaves the locket from his mother in his hand.
Back on the island, Kate goes back to her cell and starts fearing that Sawyer is doomed no matter what happens. She climbs out of the cell and goes to free Sawyer. After his gate is opened, he refuses to leave and he tells her about where they really are and that he lied so she would at least have some hope. Kate makes an unexpected move and kisses Sawyer which leads to them doing the nasty right there and in the glow of afterwards, Sawyer confesses that, "I love you too."
Jack, meanwhile, is back in the shark room when he hears someone on the intercom. It tells him to try the door which is now unlocked. He heads down the hall, sees an armory where he picks up a gun, and then finds the monitor room. Here he sees Kate and Sawyer basking in the afterglow when Ben walks in. Jack has his gun on him and then agrees to do the surgery after which he wants off the "damn" island. Ben agrees and they head to the operating room. During the surgery, with Juliet assisting, Jack purposely cuts an incision in his kidney sac and announces that Ben has about an hour to live. He insists that Kate and Sawyer be allowed to leave and wants to talk to them. Danny is already at the cages and is going to kill Sawyer regardless. Kate gets the talkie from him just in time and is told by Jack that they are to get to a boat and call him. She is to tell him the story he told her on the beach the first day on the island about the first surgery he performed. Kate refuses to leave without him as Jack screams, "Kate, damn it! Run!"
On the lostaway island, Locke and Sayid prepare to bury Eko and tells Nikki and Paulo that he must have been killed by an animal. Locke leaves to get some shovels back at camp when Sayid follows and asks what he thinks really killed Eko. He doesn't have a name for the Monster and that he's going to take a detour before getting the shovels. The go retrieve the Jesus Stick and during the funeral, Locke notices two things on it. "Lift up your eyes and look north" from Genesis and "John 3:05".
