This morning I read that one of the creators of the Generation crossing cartoon The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show passed away November 20 at his home. Chris Hayward was 81 and created or reinvented, among others characters, Dudley Do-Right. He also worked on Get Smart, My Mother the Car, and Barney Miller.
And if that wasn't enough, fate has handed us the passing of another great. Joe Barbera (IMDB link), one half of Hanna-Barbera, the cartoon company that churned out many of our beloved Saturday morning cartoons growing up died today, December 18, at the age of 95. Joe created Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Tom Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Huckleberry Hound and countless others. (Yes... even The Laff-A-Lympics... sigh)
Two greats in the world of animation have left the scene...
Requiescat In Pace. You both entertained millions of children and adults for many, many years and you will be missed.
