Sad news today. The comic book geek in me is silently depressed at the news that Comic Book artist Dave Cockrum died earlier this week from complications from pneumonia.
His big break was in getting a gig drawing a little comic for DC called The Legion of Superheroes. He then moved over to Marvel where he and writer Len Wein revamped the legendary X-Men comic and turned it into the version that most of us know today. He and Wein created the characters of Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm and Mystique and introduced them before the age of Chris Claremont and John Byrne began.
Requiescat In Pace Mr. Cockram. You will be missed in the comic world.
