One more reason I won't be voting for Sen. Talent...

After covering the amazingly vile "Daisy" ad, FactCheck.org now takes on False Newspaper attributions by the Talent camp against Claire McCaskill. Turns out that the recent political ads by Jim Talents "friends" wing incorrectly states that The Kansas City Star as having printed that McCaskill "clearly violated ethical standards", "embellish"ed audits into the state drug plan, and "exaggerating" her audit results.

Problem is that they never said those things themselves. They did however QUOTE her campaign opponents and most times said that the comments were wrong and instead endorsed her for the position she was running for.

Now, before you assume that I think the McCaskill camp is without sin, I don't. I despise the ads coming out of her camp when they don't talk about what she's going to do and when they try to confuse the facts behind Talent's votes.... BUT...

The latest Talent ads that have no mention of what he's going to change or do different than in the past and that are blatant smear attacks on not just McCaskill but her family are something I cannot look past. McCaskill may not be perfect, but she's better than what I'm seeing from Talent and unless the Libertarian candidate is ready to step up and impress me, these ads may have sealed my vote.

FactCheck also has a good article about the Dems and their misleading ad they ran in August and early September on the Internet attacking "Bush and the GOP". The ad actually shows Talent in a montage of pictures featuring President Bush and Sens. Santorum, DeWine, Burns, Chafee, and others. They don't mince words about their dislike for the twisting of votes in the ad.

Once again, log onto FactCheck and see what they have to say about Election Campaigning.

Update: Now the Kansas City Star has their take on the Talent Ads.
