Blogging Lost.... Two for the Road.

Or... What They Knew... (you know they... them... The Others!)

So... Before the review, readers will need to know something... We had storms last night... Bad Storms and because of this there are some gaps in the story (at least the version I got). [Update] ABC is nice enough to stream the whole ep here so I have some filler now! [/Update] And "darn-to-heck" channel 27 for not showing at least the last 5 minutes of American Idol or at least telling us they were going to rebroadcast it at 10pm.... Now back to your regularly scheduled Lost recap!

Jack and Kate have just found Michael and after Jack (that psychic boy) tries to find the Others lurking in the trees, decide to carry him back to the hatch....

Fade to Ana Lucia getting Faux Henry's food ready and now Flashback! Ana is confronted by her Mother (the chief of police in LA) that she shot the guy who shot her. Ana quit the force since all the losties have parental problems... and we're back.... Ana drops off the food for Faux Henry and (for a cop, she's really dumb sometimes) falls for his whispering and gets attacked. While Faux Henry is throttling her and tells her that she killed two good people who were leaving them alone and then... damn... a Tornado Warning and the radar... la, la, la... [Henry calls Ana the "real" killer and then gets knocked out by Locke's crutch masterfully handled by Locke himself.. "Guess he decided to start talking!" Wahahahahahhhhhhhhhh.. LOST zooms in....

Now
Ana is working as a "wander" at an airport and after work stops in the bar across from her station and] Ana meets Jacks dad Christian who asks how she got into "Wanding" and then asks her to go to Australia with him. Why? Fate! "I don't know your name" "Let's not use real names" "You look like a Tom" "You look like a Sarah"... and off they go.... Back on Lostaway island, Libby sees Ana with a gun and tells her not to do anything stupid and Locke confronts Faux Henry. He forgives Locke for hitting him with the crutch and .... damn... radar again....la la la la... Faux Henry tells lock that he's a DEAD man since he failed on his mission. His mission was to bring Locke back to The Others since he's one of the "Good" ones and didn't hurt him when he was pinned under the door because of it... but "Henry" is still a dead man since, "the Man In Charge is a great man, a brilliant man, but not a forgiving man." Once again with 'da man... Who 'da man? Like the tootsie roll pop... the world may never know!

Ana goes to find Sawer and he's pickin' Mangos. She wants a gun and surprisingly Sawyer doesn't give her a new pseudonym but unsurprisingly also doesn't give her a gun. Later she returns and, well, offers herself to Sawyer ( I was going to put something about the Horizontal Mambo, but that seemed rude)... "Well, well, well".... damn Tornado Warning! .... Later again, she's (ahem) finished but has managed to steal his gun (and I'm sure his virtue) ... More on that later 'cause its Flashback time!

"Tom" picks up "Sarah" and drives her to a "house" in the rain and tells her that she's here for protection (whatever that means). "Tom" gets out and confronts a woman at the door yelling something about, "She's my daughter and I have the right to.." yada, yada... "Sarah" gets out to stop him from doing anything "stupid". Good line from "Sarah"... "Should I keep the meter running?" Later, they drive away and pull up to a bar where Ana asks who the woman was... "Long story"... "Sarah" decides to tell "Tom" her name is Ana... "I'm still Tom". While they are talking, I'm thinking to my self, "Self, I wonder if this is the same bar that Christian and Sawyer... Oh... never mind.. There he is!" Sawyer stumbles by and mumbles something rude and Ana refuses his offer to drink themselves silly... Smart girl that Ana sometimes... She asks "Tom" why he's there. "Because I can't apologize to my son" "Let's go back" "I can't ever go back!"

In a strange, in a non-Lost kind of way, there is a side story with Hurley and Libby. Hurley approaches Sayid and wants to play John Cusack to his Cameron Crowe and re-inact Say Anything with Libby using the radio receiver the two picked up the Big Band music on. Sayid turns him down but does tell Hurley about the secluded beach he took Shannon (RIP) to and suggests a picnic. Hurley gets caught by Libby stealing food for the picnic and stumbles his way into an invite. Once in the jungle, Libby mentions that the Flintstones are always running past the same background over and over just like she just past the same tree for the third time. Hurley says she's wrong and steps out of the trees to show her the "beach"... Problem is, Jin is there and they didn't get anywhere near the special place. Libby suggests they get the blanket out... uhh, what blankets.. then the drinks... uhhh, what drinks. So she's now off to get blanket and Wine (!) Hurley says, "Maybe I'll get drunk enough to remember where I know you from". Yeah... Right!

So, while all this is going on, Locke and Jack discuss the fact that Mikey just showed up in the jungle. Was it a coincidence? Was Mike just good enough to get away? More on that later... Mike wakes up and tell them that The Others are more backward than they are. Just 22 people, half women, living in teepees, but no Walt... damn storm...... I start to wonder if the "Others" are getting fooled too since Kate found the stage makeup. Maybe there is more than one group being played on the island? Maybe the storm warning will go away so I can finish watching...

Jack and Locke "kiss and make-up" (except that Locke lies for Ana) and decide that it is time to get the guns back from Sawyer. "The Others are liars" "I couldn't agree more"... Ana stays to take care of Mikey... "Give Sawyer my best"...ummm... You already did from what I can tell. Kate tags along to give moral support and the Leader Triumvirate approach Sawyer about the gun stockade. "James, its time to give them back" "You too Brutus?" (heh... like he's read any Shakespeare) Jack take the manuscript for Bad Twin, the tie in book being published soon, and tears out the last couple of pages and throws them on the fire. Sawyer jumps up like they are holy scripture and begin throwing a fit. Jack pulls out his gun and makes a not-so-idle threat. Sawyer reaches for his gun, but of course, it is currently in the hands of Ana and he uses the only thing close to a pseudonym in the ep... "beyotch" "She stole my gun" Locke realizes a big mistake... "Jack, I need to tell you something!"

Back at the hatch, Ana has entered the safe room and throws Faux Henry a knife telling him to cut himself free. "Henry" tells her that Goodwin always wanted to save her since she was just misunderstood and that he could change her. "He was going to kill me!" "Was he?" Gun is pointed...... queue the commercial

Flashback! Jack is in the Sydney Airport trying to get his father home. Ana is listening... so is Jin. Later she calls her mom and tells her, "I made a mistake. I want to come home" "Come home then. I meet you at the airport." Back to real time and Ana is sitting on the couch in the hatch with the gun. She couldn't do it. Mikey walks in and tells her that she, "got them stirred up!" She says that Jack and Locke went to get the guns. "Sawyer has the guns?" "Long story." She then tells him that she couldn't kill Faux Henry, who is locked in the safe unbeknownst to Mikey until now. He offers to kill him for her. She hands the gun over and Mike looks determined to avenge his son. Ana gives him the combination to the lock. He looks at Ana and says, "I'm sorry."

OH SHIT!

He shoots Ana in the chest! My wife jumps 1 foot out of her recliner! Damn... didn't see that coming! Now Libby walks in with a blanket looking for the wine... "Michael?"

Holy crap!

Mikey shoots
Libby who falls to the floor. He walks over to the safe and opens the door where Faux Henry stands waiting. Michael takes the gun and starts to point it at "Henry" but the guns keeps moving to Mike's shoulder and then he...

No Way!

pulls the trigger.

Now here's the problem.. Today is supposed to start a new "game" on the Internet. Part of the clues for the "game" were going to be in the commercials, but due to the Tornado Warning I didn't get to see any. I'll post some links to others who got the clues when I find them....

Until next week... Let me know what I missed.

UPDATE! - Looks like Ana is dead. Turns out that Michelle Rodriguez only signed up for 1 season and this was planned from the beginning! And I corrected myself. Its Ana not Anna and for some reason I kept typing Lilly instead of Libby. By the way, Libby's fate is still unknown, in part because she has signed up for a sitcom with CBS called My Ex-Wife and that may be a major conflict with filming Lost. -- More later!

I used to think Tim Drum was an okay guy...that was before he co-opted Lost! And for what? Was there a real tornado? NO. How many times during the episode did he say that the danger seemed to be lessening? How many times did he call it a thunderstorm instead of a tornado? Why did they think they had to break in for 3 - 4 minutes at a time?????

Actually I think I have become addicted to this show--is there a 12 step program for Lost addicts?

BTW: I missed too many eps last fall--what the heck happened to Shannon?

Shannon as shot by Ana Lucia when her and Sayid were out in the rain with Vincent looking for Ghost Walt.

And yes, there is a 12 step program...

Step 1: Purchase the Season 1 DVD set
Step 2-10: Watch all episodes plus the bonus materials and find the Easter Eggs.
Step 11: Put yourself on the pre-order list for the Season 2 DVDs
Step 12: Wait in agony for the DVDs to arrive.

My wife says that somewhere in there is a step that says...

Leave your spouse before they leave you because they are tired of watching the season DVDs for the fifth time! ;-)

Thanks for the post... If only I knew who you were!
