Is this what Bush is spending my tax dollars on????

Here's the Article -- Bush surprises Koizumi with Segway gift.

Turns out that President Bush gave a Segway to the Prime Minister of Japan as a gift today. The Prime Minister only rode the thing 3 feet! 3 Feet!?!? With a minimum price of $4,495 you would think that he could have ridden it further.

Yes, I know... Mr. Bush may have bought the Segway with his own money. What I want to know is whether or not he even considered the fact that you CAN NOT ride a Segway on Public roads or sidewalks in Japan. Did anyone even bother to tell this to our fine President? (I have in my mind right now a discussion that keeps repeating... "I'm not going to tell him. You tell him")

If it comes out that he purchased this with tax-payor money, you will really get a rant from this Dad!

Talk at you later.....

A very interesting thing is that no major news agencies (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News) seem to be reporting this story. I could not even find it currently on Yahoo news but could only get to it from your link. From reading the article, it stated that President Bush had previously bought Segway's for his parents and Barbara. It sounds like this was his own money (no way to currently confirm because no one is covering it). If it is a gift then the Prime Minister can do whatever he wants with it including riding it 3 feet and throwing it away if he likes. Can you find anything other gifts that the President bought with his money that you would like to nitpick? OH my, the President bought 8 boxes of Girl Scout cookies and gave them away. What a scandal! Why are you not blogging on the Cheney/Oil Companies/Energy scandal instead of this?
