My Soccer-less weekend....

Or... How I Thought I would love a weekend off, but didn't....

You know those weekends that you get once in a great while that are supposed to be "lazy" and "fun"??? You know those?? Thought I was going to have one starting Friday night. Didn't happen!

Friday consisted of getting the oil changed in my vehicle... should be simple... but it too 2 hours... at Wal-Mart! But I did finally get to eat at The Lazy Susan! Excellent food and lots of it. The owner has a great blog too so check it out!

Saturday was hair cut day! Whoo-hoo! We filled every empty chair at Nixa Barber and left feeling light-headed. Then quickly home to fix burgers for Larry and family, who were joining us in our travels, but....... No Propane in the grill.... So lunch took a lot longer than expected and that made us later than we wanted for.... Apple Butter Makin' Days in Mount Vernon! Yes, the town we would have normally been avoiding due to no Soccer was the town we ended up in. Don't get me wrong, we have went there for the past 3 years and have lots of fun, but we were already running of fumes, and traveling with 3 tired kids is just punishment I didn't need. We did have fun though. Kids got their faces painted, bought some Apple and Pumpkin Butter, and (strangely enough) bought a "lucky" bamboo plant for my cube at work.

Larry and family then came back to the house for supper.... Hunter had to sell Boy Scout Popcorn at church.... I cooked.... And we played cards until 10:15 at night. Lots of relaxing goin' on here!

Sunday was church, shopping, and Pasta House! Ahhhh, Pasta House on Sundays and KIDS EAT FREE! The only problem, I had the special and they didn't tell us that it was heavy Garlic! I had a rather embarrasing issue the rest of the day as that much garlic is evil! That added with the "VIP" sale at Penney's gave me more than enough reason to enjoy finally getting home at 6:30pm. And then I finally got to sit down...

My "weekend off" was everything but.... But it was family time and it could be worse... Just ask Larry over on his blog....
